Rating system

Hi everyone! I have enabled the ability to rate articles and forum threads. Please whenever you read an article, rate it. If you can with threads too, that would be great. For articles, we'd added structured data HTML which allows Google to display it's rating in search results.... so rating things will really help get us noticed.

Question from a search engine dummy. How does having the rating help get the site noticed in Google?

Winster if you look at Google search results especially for recipes, car reviews and things like that you'll see star ratings next to them. It does make them stand out more.
