Good article. We live in extremely competitive times and being a hard worker isn't enough these days. Yes, there are plenty of people who don't work hard and will to the least the can get away with, and yes this does mean hard workers are more valuable than slackers! But if you want to rise above the crowd either working for yourself or someone else you have to find that special something for your field that will make your 100% look like 150% compared to others!

The smart worker is the person who is usually remembered if a boss ever gets in a situation where he has to choose who gets laid off. The most valuable people usually stay, and the layoff is used as a convenience reason to get rid of baggage.
